My dissertation seeks a biodiversity-responsive and territorial framework for rethinking green infrastructure (GI) planning in terms of its conceptualisation, implementation, and management. It examines how GI concepts and practices have evolved over recent decades, including the applied and ethical trade-offs between anthropocentric and biocentric values. The research is based on a comparative study of Helsinki, Milan, and Stockholm —metropolitan regions known for their advanced GI initiatives. Through the lenses of scientific/grey literature and knowledge brokers, the project identifies and critically analyses both shared and context-specific interventions and shifts in GI planning.
